Passenger data
What the network keeps about you.
You can ride every line without an account. This is the complete list of what the site stores.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, the server stores your email address, the sign-up time and a random leave token. No email is being sent yet. The leave link shown after sign-up deletes the address straight away.
Contact form
A message sent through the contact form is stored with the email address you give, an optional name and the time it arrived, so the editors can read it. Messages are deleted after at most 12 months and are never sold or shared.
Spam limits
The network address of a sign-up or a contact request is held in the server's memory for up to one hour to limit repeated requests. It is not written to the database.
In your browser
- cascade_seen: the stops you marked as read, used by the map, the planner and the line pages. It never leaves your browser.
- cascade_theme: your light or dark choice.
- cascade_token: only for the editors who sign in to the admin area.
These are local storage entries, not cookies; clearing site data for moleculine.com removes them.
Outside services
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser details to serve and protect it, under its own privacy policy. Fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads them. Source links lead to journals and regulators with their own policies.
What we do not do
No cookies, no analytics or tracking scripts, no advertising and no reader profiles. Each stop counts how often it is opened as a single number, with nothing about who opened it.
Your choices
Use the leave link to remove a waitlist address. To ask what we hold or to have a message deleted, write through the contact page from the same address.
